21 July 2023

16 DIFFERENT TUMOSAN PRODUCTS ARE EXHIBITED AT 2023 IDEF FAIR

The 2023 IDEF Fair will host companies operating in the fields of security, maritime, aviation and space industries, especially the Defense Industry, as every year. TÜMOSAN is participating in the fair held at TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center between 25 - 28 July 2023 with 16 different products, especially domestic and nationally produced marine engines.

Pioneering companies in innovation and defense industry investors come together at the IDEF Fair, held for the 16th time. IDEF, one of the world's largest defense industry fairs, brings together valuable participants. TÜMOSAN also has a strong stance among these participants with its wide product portfolio.

SUBSYSTEMS PROVIDER, DOMESTIC AND NATIONAL POWER

TÜMOSAN exhibits 16 different products at the 2023 IDEF Fair. Many products, especially ULAQ, the unmanned marine vehicle of ARES company, which makes important productions in the field of Marine Elements, Marine Engine, whose deliveries started within the scope of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement signed with the General Directorate of Shipyards, electronic control and steering systems used in TÜMOSAN's military land vehicles, tractors and marine power groups, PUSAT conventional and hybrid Military Land Vehicles, ALP power groups consisting of TÜMOSAN brand engines and transmissions, preferred according to applications in different versions, Turkey's first domestic engines with Phase-5 emission level, and the powertrain used in the PUSAT vehicle are taking their place at IDEF Fair. In addition, the domestic production generator that can meet the needs of many industrial companies is showcased for the first time. Volkan GÜN, Technology and Engineering Group Manager at TÜMOSAN, which makes a great contribution to the domestic production rate in the production of subsystems, said: “While determining our R&D strategy, we set the target to develop foreign and critical imported products in the inventory with domestic and national means, in line with TÜMOSAN's field of activity. We are holding discussions with the Presidency of Defense Industries in this regard, and we manage our projects in the areas we think our country needs with our own resources as a subcontractor in SSB and MSB projects."

MARINE ENGINES ADD STRENGTH TO THE POWER OF THE TURKISH DEFENSE INDUSTRY

Within the scope of the "TMSN x7.4 Engine Marineization Project" initiated between TÜMOSAN and ARES regarding the procurement of 2 Power Groups (TÜMOSAN's 352 kW marine engine, imported product marine transmission, and power group electronic control module), ELD services and documents of ARES from TÜMOSAN in line with the "ULAQ Armed Unmanned Marine Vehicle" contract signed between the Presidency of Defense Industries and ARES - METEKSAN Business Partnership within the scope of the "Autonomous Surface Vehicle Supply Project Request for Proposal File" of the Presidency of Defense Industries, Marin Engine Bremze tests have been completed and the integration of the power group to the ULAQ boat and the acceleration tests of the boat have been carried out.

With all these studies, it has proven its presence in the marine sector with the marine power groups that it started to deliver to the General Directorate of Shipyards under the Naval Forces Command.

“WE, AS TUMOSAN, ARE PRESENT IN THE NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY MOVEMENT”

Companies that catch up with the latest trends in technology with their newest products make a great contribution to the national technology move at IDEF Fair. TÜMOSAN aims to position itself as a pioneer in its sector in domestic and national production. Halim TOSUN, General Manager of TÜMOSAN, which continues to carry out important work on bringing domestic and national subsystems of Turkey's land vehicles to the Defense Industry sector, said: "When we look at the areas in which our company TÜMOSAN has determined a vision to develop and produce land vehicles and subsystems of critical importance for Turkey in its R&D studies, operates today, it is seen that it will have a serious weight in the domestic production marine engine sector in the coming years. Our work, which started with marine engines in the range of 85 HP-115 HP, developed based on the mechanical engine family used in TÜMOSAN brand tractors for many years, has now reached a level where 352 kW marine engine deliveries are made to ULAQ unmanned marine vehicle and Mule boats used in military shipyards. These products, which are the fruits of our domestic substitution strategy in critical products, make not only us but our entire country proud, and ensure that the financial resources that would otherwise go abroad remain within the country. In addition, Turkey's first domestic engine with Phase-5 emissions, produced by TÜMOSAN with domestic resources, has successfully passed the emission tests carried out under the supervision of TSE at the Engine Excellence Center in TÜBİTAK-RUTE and has completed the homologation process. With this emission level success achieved, we will reduce imported engine purchases by meeting domestic market demands with Phase-5 engine production in both industrial and commercial areas. "In the coming years, we will begin to see more results of these studies across the country.”
